I saw a greeting card yesterday that pretty much sums up most of what is wrong with the world today, it said:
"I know my prince is out there somewhere, it's just that I've grown so fond of this frog.." -Annie Farnsworth
And the thing is, it doesn't just apply to princes, people are settling for mediocre everything... Academically, spiritually, relationally, in terms of health both mental and physical. So disturbing.

ahhhh. Good point!
That rings with a truth that is painful.
Remember what Shakespeare said, All that glitters is not gold. Keep watching for the true gold. You have seen it in our mutual friends, Geneva and Maynard Henderson. Character qualities like finding great joy in the simple things, kindness and helpfulness in times of need, warmth and caring for all, self-forgetfulness, thankfulness to God for blessings regardless of circumstances, and many, many more.
That is one of the most incisive summaries of humanity's condition I've ever read.
I have a feeling that the vast majority of people would agree with that statement; it just rings true in our experience. So why is it that we see the problem and do nothing?
heeere you are Al!
found ya!
my question is: how did we end up with the frog in the first place? was it because we weren't looking for ANYTHING? was it because we weren't TRYING at all? how much more sublime to start with the Prince? we should never then fall to frogs.
"Don't settle"
Don't start!!
Addendum: it occurs to me that we ARE fallen to the frogs. We start there as humans. Humanity can't naturally excel because we're subject to entropy to a shocking degree. Our lives, bodies, spirits are all broken and it takes great effort to repair. Thank you for this clarion call to look up and start fixing rusty us.
Ads, if you post while I'm gone I will be a faithful devotee.. please do.
